Ok, your fear is over riding your logic here. First make a comprehensive list of your symptoms. Then work through them to see if any of them occur with higher or lower numbers.
The weight thing could be down to anything including stress and I'm reading a lot of stress here.
The thyroid test will show any abnormalities and then you can go onto other tests as/if required.
My thoughts are with you. Keep posting and let us know how it goes.
Heather.

... he ordered only a normal thyroid test. should i trust a normal thyroid test or is t3 t4 required? ....
I assume that by "normal thyroid test" you mean total TSH. It usually shows up a problem, but not always. The process works something like this.
T3 is the active hormone that regulates metabolic rate, and it's level is critical. The pituitary gland produces Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH), which causes the thyroid to produce T4. And T4 is converted to T3 in the liver. So it is possible that TSH is normal but T3 is out of whack.
Here is an article about it :
Introduction: Thyroid Gland Disorders: Merck Manual Home Edition (http://www.merck.com/mmhe/sec13/ch163/ch163a.html)
And here are some pointers to interpreting the test results :
How to Interpret Your Thyroid Test Results (http://thyroid.about.com/library/howto/htthyroid-test.htm)
If you don't get any joy, you might want to consider seeing a good naturopath, homeopath or osteopath. They tend to be better at taking a holistic view of what is going on and bringing things back into balance. Good luck !

How much sleep are you getting a night? Is it continual sleep or are you waking?
With the losing weight it truely sounds like you aren't eating enough. What are you eating each meal? Do you have any idea how many calories?

Are you sure about that? Yogurt usually contains lots of carbs, especially the low-fat stuff. I only eat it before or during exercise. Look under total carbohydrate in the nutritional info on the packaging.

This is sounding more like stress and panic attacks by the minute. I am a psychologist. I see this all the time. It is an illness like any other. Don't be afraid of it or deny it. I will leave you to decide what to do but I am happy to help if you want me to.

YES!!
Stay away from the sugar free junk!!
These companies are merely using the public as their long term laboratory.
These chemical sugars have no means of matabolizing in your body.
Eat a bit less of real food, as a trade for regular portion with sugarfree.
I have no real evidence or example of sugarfree being related to your problem, but in principle, sugarfree is really bad choice.
Real food makes real body material like brain, muscles, bones.
Sugarfree chemicals that cannot metabolize have no means of satisfying hunger or any nutritional yearning in your body, hence the sky is the limit for problems from sugarfree.
I saw a can of sugarfree cherry pie filling in the store and was interested in purchasing, until I read the ingredients containing suralose.
I avoid any/all sugarfree like plague.
Try kefir as a change for your yoghurt - exactly like yoghurt, but drinkable, and I search hard to find the whole milk full fat kefir.
DeusX will staighten me out, but as I understand it, the brain runs on fats from foods.
Run away from sugarfree. I have stayed away from sugar free for my entire diabetes life - almost 34 years now.

40 carbs per meal isn't a lot if you are losing weight.

I agree Dan. I've always avoided the cräp, except for diet sodas which I don't drink much of. From the start I've cut way back on all sweeteners. I find most sweets sickening. Most recipes can be cut back by half or more.

No way, there is actually another person with the same symptoms. Ok dude/girl dude lol, i had EXACTLY what you are talking about. By 1pm i was dead tired and could not do anything but sleep.
My opinion on what you should do, see a psychiatrist. This IS stress and worrying. Let him put you on some pills that will make you more mellow and happier, It will help you will see.

to the above answer....NO, lol. I am not one of those people. I am just wondering because the fatigue i feel seems unatural, not just like a little stress. Is it possibleto have a normal thyroid reading one day and out of range the next? thanks for all ur help everyone i will fight through this ****. i start college next month and i think that might be a great solution.

And you don't think you could be stressed?
If your thyroid tests were normal, that's not likely your problem.

I can identify with everything you say...
My doc put me on thyroid medicine (hypothyroid) 5 months ago, and just increased it last week. I've complained about fatigue more and more lately, with no answers so far. Got tested for anemia on my own curiosity, but no dice. As I enjoy a few rums here and there, maybe the "hard" alcohol had had an effect over the years. No dice after liver testing.
I'm now thinking that it's possibly sleep apnea (waking many times overnight), as I also have occasional asthma attacks, usually overnight. You may want to look into this as well.

i think what we have is depression and stress. I think i have hit that time in my life between high school and adulthood and i just dont know what the future holds. I'm so used to going to school everyday and hanging out with friends and getting home and just doing fun stuff and i know that is going to change. soon i will need a permanent job and need to pay bills. i think life just starts to suck from here on out. I am just going through the acceptance stage. also having diabetes definitly doesnt help my situation. i feel like if i would have lived 100 years ago i would have died by quickly and that is depressing...
i think life just starts to suck from here on out.
Everybody's experiences are different, but my experience has been that life got so much better after high school. I got to become my own person, take control of my own decisions and finances, and shed the pre-conceived notions that people had of me after 12 years of school together. College and then post-college life are both huge changes, and they weren't seamless ones for me, but they've been for the best. (And, FWIW, I was diagnosed with D as a college freshman, and I still feel this way.) Don't underestimate all of the wonderful things that will happen in the newxt few years.....
I think that you're dealing with some major stress and even some depression, due in part to your D and upcoming life changes. Maybe seeing a therapist would be a good idea? Get this stuff under control now, before you tackle college... IMHO.
Good luck!

Just wondering, but could it be side effects to whatever medicine you're taking (assuming you are taking any)?
