Hey,
I am drinking like a trooper and going to the toilet every 20 minutes but when I test my blood I am apparently low?
I have not really noticed it before so is there any explanation to why I have the effects of a high with all the drinking but I am actually 3.5?

Try testing with a different meter....

I find too much caffeine does this.

How long has this been going on? Anything change that started this on? Its not like you are new to the D. When was the last time you saw your GP or specialist?

i agree with the others, either an impending cold or too much caffeine perhaps?

Yes- too much caffeine fools me into thinking I am high, even if I am normal or low.

Sharon, Knowing whare you are, (http://maps.google.com.au/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&time=&date=&ttype=&q=irish+sea&sll=-25.335448,135.745076&sspn=42.669037,70.488281&ie=UTF8&ll=55.37911,-6.020508&spn=3.414557,8.811035&z=7&om=1) And it is indeed cold as there is no argument there. Can we say that by being cold can slow or halt circulation and can slow down insulin. here in the heat like today it's a stifling 33C 91.4F and they had the decency to say little humidity. What a whole lot of trollop!!! It can speed up. ;)

There was nothing wrong with the meter, I think it could have been caffine if that is what you say it does as I do drink a lot of tea.
What was strange is that I got some food to cure my low and then the thirst went away, yeah I know I had diabetes a long time now but I have only spent the last year caring about it so I am still running into new situations.
Does that make sense to anyone about eating and not being really thirsty?
Gobbly, you are not alone!
I often get confusing symptoms. My friend does too. There's a spot somewhere around 7.5 - 8.5 (135 - 153) which is obviously a little high but always feels low to me. I suspect it's different for everyone - if they get it at all - depending on what numbers they're used to.
There are also times when I feel super high yet I'm low, or even perfectly normal. It happens to me a lot. I have to test regularly - I once injected a correction dose because I knew I was high.. and THEN tested and found I was already low. Trouble! But I had a nice dessert LOL.
Sometimes I can blame it on normal every day life - I mean, sometimes I forget that I can just be thirsty, or tired, and it doesn't always have to diabetes! But that can't always explain it. So I have no idea WHY it happens, but I just want to let you know you're not alone!
