Wow it looks like the site is growing, can't believe that Gina left, I wonder what happened? Anyway, well an update on me since it has been awhile. I am still loving my Minimed 712, still no problems. I am still using my Paradigm Link checker. All is good here.

Except for today. I had a Drs appoinment and last night my sugar dropped a little low (first time that has happened since I got rid of the H-Tron). Anyway I got some milk and unplugged my site, well forgot to plug it back in and this morning my sugar was 250+, so I took a few units and went to the Drs. But on the way I ate Wendy's and when I arrived the lady wanted to check my sugar and I told her I just ate and she said, it don't matter. So she checked it and her meter read 566. She paniced, I stayed calm and said there is no way it is that high, so I used my trustie Paradigm and it was 389 (still too high). Then checked it after 10 mins and it had dropped to 246. She was then convenced that her meter needed calibration. I looked at my meter and it showed that I still had over 10 units of active insulin from lunch.

Oh well...doctor was happy with everything else. See you guys around.

Hey Mike great to have you back :) Glad to hear you're still loving your pump too!

Hey quick suggestion: rather than unhooking your pump when you're low, do what I do and just set a temp basal for about an hour, I usually go 10%. That way you can't forget to hook back up. And it alarms occasionally just to remind ya that you're on a temp.

Hope all is going well with you! Catch ya around!

Yep, I'm back. Well to be honest I don't do anything with my pump except fill it, rewind it, prime it and bolus it. Thats it. I am not even sure if I know how to set a temp basal, although I am sure it is pretty easy.

I will have to pratice that and try it out if it ever happens again.

Wow, I can't believe how many post people have now. This forum has really picked up.

Mike, FYI there is a great resource for learning about your pump online. MiniMed has an online tutorial that walks you through just about every situation you may encounter. Here is the link if you are interested...

BTW, I also have the 712.

Welcome back...

Yes, this forum has really become quite the popular spot...hey, the more, the merrier :)

Glad you are liking your pump. I was on the Paradigm 511, but unfortunately had some problems (long story:rolleyes: ), so am back on injections, probably until my next A1c. I got to get my blood sugar down. I was very diappointed with my last one. Let's just put it this way, there's lots of room for improvement.

Sorry to hear you had that little mishap the other day, but I guess it's experiences like those we learn from. Hopefully, you'll have a lot more positive experiences to come with your new pump.

Again, welcome back! :)
