Polydextrose

I am just wondering how others count polydextrose. I have read that all of the grams of polydextrose should be subtracted from carbs but I don't know if I trust that. Has anyone eaten anything with a large amount of polydextrose? If so how did you count it and what was the effect? Do you get the same lousy results as eating something with high contents of sugar alcohols?

I thought that anything dextrose had sugar in it. What is the polydextrose? That doesn't begin to answer your question, but I am curious to know about it.

I have some peach gummies that look really good and they are listed as to have 30g carb and 26.4g polydextrose for the whole serving. I really want to try them but I am afraid I am going to go really high if I count the polydextrose but too low if I don't. I guess I would rather go high then have a serious low. I am going to try it counting the full amount of polydextrose as per the CDA and see what happens. I will let you know.

Ok so it has been a little more than two hours since I ate the gummy peaches with the polydextrose.
