If you have type II diabetes, do you refrain eating from apples, bananas and oranges?
I mean eating fruits and vegetables are good, generally speaking.

I have found that I can eat certain fruits w/o a lot of problems blood-sugar wise. I can eat an apple or 1/2 a banana or a pear without problems. Grapes and fresh pineapple, on the other hand, cause me problems. I'm not a fan of oranges, so I don't know how they affect me. I can tolerate cantaloupe as well, but have more problems with watermelon. I have fruit a couple of days a week.
I think the best way to determine how fruits affect blood sugar is to test your blood sugar after eating your fruit of choice and see if it is at an acceptible level at 2 hrs afterwards. We're all different in our tolerances, so what works for one may not work for another.

Remember the term YMMV (Your Mileage May Vary). Not every diabetic is the same. However, it is generally recommended that you do include fruits in your diet. It isn't just about the sugars. Fruits provide other essential nutrients and good stuff that you can't get from other sugary foods. Which is better... a banana, or a slice of that cheesecake? Now, I know what your tastebuds are saying, but I know that cheesecake isn't going to give you anywhere near the amount of potassium that banana is. LOL.
Welcome to the forums. :)

I eat all kinds of fruit in moderation. My meds help me do this.

I eat fruits a lot, but I don't eat a lot at once. A banana, apple, grapes, or whatever mixed with a meal are hardly noticeable. On Fridays at work when they hand out platters of the stuff and I choose it over cookies and muffins, I shoot through the roof.
The only way to answer this for you is to test after eating.

I have an apple with my lunch each day.
What works for me might not work for you - test to see...

I never eat fruit. Since my taste has changed over this past year even some vegetables seem sweet to me. I can snack on raw cauliflower or cucumber slices and they seem to meet my need for sweets.
