Hello to all and thank you very much for having me :)
Soon to turn 30 and have had Type 1 Diabetes since 1980, so pretty much as long as I can remember.
Fact is I have never in life really known any one else with T1D during all these years, and after almost 28 years I thought it was about time :D
Pleased to meet you all :)

Hi Nikky,
The only other Type 1s (only a couple) I knew before this forum, did not want to talk about their diabetes. I didn't think I had much in common with Type 2s. I've learned a lot, including a big new dose of respect for Type 2s.
Welcome!

Welcome aboard, Nikky. Not all of us here are type 1's, however, we still have a lot in common. For instance, we both have to be very careful about our Blood Glucose Levels.
Don't hesitate to ask questions. We are all here for you.
Regards,
Isometric

Hi and welcome! I know I'm not the only type 2 here who is using insulin in much the same way you are, so you've got all kinds of company on this site. :)

Hi and welcome. I don't know a lot of other type 1's either. I grew up in a small town and one of the only type 1's I knew was my younger sister, who was diagnosed almost exactly 2 years after I was. We learned a lot from each other regarding diabetes, but we were also a lot different. She's on Lantus and Humalog and I'm on a Minimed pump. And that works well for each of us so far.
Nice to meet you!

Thanks Everyone!
I'm currently on Lantus and Novorapid, tried a pump for a while in my teens but it was just not for me. I still prefer the pen.
Must admit things have not always been very good, and that I never knew any other Diabetics is partly my own fault.
I too grew up in a small town in Sweden and those others who had T1D..were so much more "perfect" then I was.
I had a real hard time to accept it for many years and always looked at is as the "enemy", but have come to the conclusion it will only affect you in a bad way if you let it. Though it had to hit me pretty hard before I came to sense :)
