Hi all,

Our largest local grocery store chain, Food Lion, has begun stocking miniature bananas from Equador as they have extended their line of Hispanic produce items. I bought a bunch Sunday night and have found them to be quite tasty. They are about 4 inches long and 3/4 of an inch diameter.

Recently I had noticed that full size bananas ran my sugar up higher than I like it. These, though, don't seem to do that. They are a fairly decent treat if you want a 'little taste' of banana.

Travis if you eat bananas with alot of black spots the sweeter they are. These are sugar spots and i noticed that the yellower and more spots t hey have on them the higher my sugar. I tend to get green onces and try not to eat them when the spots appear. Gonna have to go to food lion

Belinda,

My wife buys them as near green as she can find them. When we were first married, I had to stop her from throwing some out that had just turned yellow! When she used to see the first brown spot, she thought the were rotting.

An update: I had one of the mini bananas with supper. After an hour my bs was 120. So, I got to have the taste with no significant impact.

Hey you guys wanna try something great, boil those little green bananas until they're soft and hot. Then you mash em and throw a little bit of butter and salt on them. You'll think you're in Africa :)
