Last week I did yet another round and series of blood tests. Always being able to control my type2 by what I ate with my original HBA1c's in the 7% range at this
current test they were 5.4% ( woo hoo)
My glucose was 107 ( yet flagged high )
and then here is this test they have never done before
the C-Peptide. Normal values 0.1-3.0 Is pretty standard,
MY RESULTS were 11.0.

I dont get it? And now I have an appointment tomorrow to see my doc at his request because he wants to put me on metformin. Im so anti medication it is not even funny so the thought terrifies me. I know all about c-peptide Ive been reading and reading. To add my HDL's were 28 ( low ) Triglycerides were 246 ( flagged high) LDL estimate was 114 ( flagged high) . Any corillation between them? Also ( i DID NOT ) BUT would eating three doughnuts 3 hours before the test have any baring on it? If so you'd think a doctor couldnt trust a patient to do a proper fasting and therefore would be a little more reluctant to prescribe a medicine before doing the test a second time? ( again no i didnt just pointing out reputability here) :) TIA !!

I would get a second opinion and your doctor, Is he or she a General Practitioner. If so then I would see to a endo if you can.
General Practitioners generalize your health and they just assume that this is your problem. Get a specialist and that's a Endocrinologist.

Your c-peptide reflects your insulin resistance. When your body is producing more insulin to cover what carbs you ate, as well as pushing more insulin into the cells because your cells are resisting the original insulin produced.

With regard to your lipid panel, triglycerides are notoriously high with T2's. The insulin resistance causes this. There are some people here who know more about it than I do though. Your LDL should be below 100 and your HDL should be above 50 (I think).

Lipid panels must *always* be done after at least an 8 hour fast. Yes, your results can be skewed by eating donuts before the test, though I honestly don't know by how much.

Don't freak out about your doc wanting to put you on meds. Ask him if instead you can see a nutritionist and/or a CDE and see if they can help you come up with a food plan that will keep your bgs stable. Also, they'll probably recommend for you to take fish oil or flax seed oil to control your cholesterol numbers.

Why are you anti-medication? Would you rather be anti-foot? How about anti-vision?

Oh no! lol Im completely for medication I just have a fear of it not really sure hwy honestly it didnt start until the last couple years and everytime it is mentioned I freak and search for as many alternatives as possible.... That sounds bad ... mmmmm I dont know i just have anxiety over it for some odd reason, wish I could answer that better. Part of me says what if I dont need it and my body doesnt really need it..im going to die from taking it... while another part of me says the opposite... hmmm make sense? lol I confuse myself sometimes lol

With your high c-peptide levels, your doctor will probably want to start you on metformin, which will help your body utilize the insulin its producing...right now, your body is resistant to the insulin, so your body is OVER producing the amount you need. Metformin will allow your body to take a break from producing so much insulin.

I had low HDLs (23) and the doctor told me exercise, fish oil tablets and red wine a few nights a week at bedtime would help. I did this, and 3 months later, HDL had doubled.

I had high triglycerides at diagnosis, but after getting my blood sugars under control, these have stayed within normal limits.

Congratulations on the a1c! (same as my last value :D)

I'd be concerned about taking Metformin with such a good a1c. Can you simply start eating better instead?

good A1c yes...congrats on that!

However, we often overlook the fact that high levels of insulin in the blood are hard on the heart as well (quoting Dr Mirkin there)
I am thinking that is what your Dr is trying to reduce here. Another way might be very low carb diet, reduce the need for insulin...however as I am guessing with a good A1c, you are probably not overdoing the carbs, it may be that you just have to address the IR now... BTW FBG of 107 (5.9) would be regarded as too high by my Dr as well, she says 100 (5.6)...
You are doing well, I understand your reluctance to drugs, I'm the same....however if I had a flat tyre I wouldn't drive on it and if I broke a bone in my foot, I would want a cast on it.....even though that is inconvenient...it is what it is...
