so hi!
i am actually really happy to be involved here bc i have been looking for some other people who can relate with me and what i have been through and continue to go through..also it is so so great to read posts from people who are NOT the perfect diabetic-which i am unfortunately so far from..and i have a lot of questions so i am going to get started right now:
i have a high a1c..which i am working on..although i know not as hard as i should..and while i would like to get pregnant..i am not planning to right now..however..its possible that i am (way too early to know) and i know its irresponsible..but what can you do if you begin your preg w/ a high a1c? not what can you do before..im scared - thanks

All you can do is take it from here and do the best you can!

I'm doing extremely well now, but many times during my almost 29 years with D, I wasn't taking very good care of myself. We all fall off and fail at things -- that's just life. But we all have the chance to pick up and do better. Welcome to the forum!

Welcome to the forum, it's a great place and I have found really wonderful people here who are ready to help and support.

I can't comment on becoming pregnant, I'm male, a type II and don't know that side of things, but I'm sure there will be people who can help and advise you.

Hi, I'm new here, too. Don't fret over past decisions, it's wasted time. Learn from experience and move on. If you are pregnant, work to do what's best for yourself and the child. Again, don't waste time worrying about the past. Try to get the best information available about anything before making any decision, consider it carefully, and then decide on a course of action. If you do that, you'll never have anything to look back on and wonder what if. I wish you well, and I wish both of good luck in figuring out how to better care for ourselves with this disease.
