I took this several years ago, before becoming diabetic. I did lose weight on it, but as soon as I stopped the pills, the weight came back. This was one half of the diet pill Phen-Phen, that was so popular several years ago before being taken off the market because of some fatal side effects. Phentermine itself wasn't what caused the problems, but it does have side effects. To answer your question "does it work?"...yes, it works...TEMPORARILY.

If you're really interested in weight loss, rather than trying medication, just make sure you're burning more calories than you're taking in.

I know it sounds simple...and I also know how difficult it can be to do this when you have a busy life...but it does work. As someone who has been overweight for years, and STILL has quite a bit to lose, the best thing i've found to work is minimizing carbs and getting plenty of exercise. When I slack off on exercise, my weight loss slacks as well.

You can take diet meds, but not forever, and if your habits are the same food and exercise wise when you STOP the meds as they were BEFORE you started them, your weight will more than likely come back.

Personally, I would avoid it like the plague. I'm sure it can help a person lose weight, but why risk the hearts health? I had a major heart episode from pseudoephedrine in diabetic robitussin. Any stimulating product just scares me.

I would advise losing weight the very old fashioned way. Ok, I've become an old fuddy-duddy, but I'm at a very healthy weight and alive!!!
