I've searched through the forum and reviewed numerous hits defining foot pain but didn't find anything that quite comes close to what I have recently experienced.
-very quick, short duration (500ms), stabbing, bone-grinding pain.
-no advance symptom: pain hits, pain gone; back to normal. Except for that state of fear that hits asking: "What was THAT??!!!!".
The pain is crippling, but does not last long (less than 1 second). Always happens when I am standing or maybe twisting (like when working around the kitchen: -short spin on your feet from the sink to the stove to the counter. Has never happened when sitting, driving, walking.
Feels like a clamp has been placed around the foot, instantly squeezed and released. Mainly affects the entire foot: toes to heel, but mostly in the centre of the foot. Only the left foot.
Sidebars: I am a verteran T1; 40+yrs experience. My control has been excellent most of my life. I am in very good shape and exercise regularly (hockey x 3 per week). Never taken a slapshot off the side of my foot. Have never had a foot injury of any kind (sprain, crack, break, severe impact injury.) Not overweight.
First thought of course is this is a variant symptom of neurapathy, but I did not read / find any similar experiences.
I will be seeing my endo on Thursday, and we'll be chatting about this recent development.
Anyone have a similar adventure?
