My sister Lylalee is type 2 diabetic. She is mildly audistic and has some problems writing but has no problems reading.
I am hoping that she can find support here because she often resents my monitoring her diabeties. She would like to be able to discuss her diabetic problems with those who understand what she is dealing with.
Lylalee has never been on a forum before and will need some guidance.
I try not to interfer with her life and decisions so I will encourage her to learn about this forum and hopefully make friends on her own.
Lylalee has read this introduction and is excited about the forum.
Thank you
Evermont

Hi Lylalee, welcome! So glad you and your sister found the forums. We'd like to learn more about you. How long have you had diabetes? What medicines do you take? Do you test your blood sugars a lot?
I think you'll find lots of great people here, ready to offer encouragement and support as needed. Its hard sometimes dealing with diabetes and we all have our good and bad days.
Look around, post often...you'll learn a lot from these folks.
It's good that you have your sister looking out for you...my husband looks out for me and, while it can sometimes be irritating, it would be hard to "go it alone."

This place is not very busy on Friday nights.
Are you testing your own blood sugar levels? I test mine between 6 and 10 times a day. I take insulin, and it is much more important to test often when you take it.

Welcome Lylalee! That's a very pretty name. I'm a Weight Watcher too...although I didn't do very well at dinner tonight. Too many chips at the Mexican restaurant!!! I'm sure your sister doesn't have that problem!
