a high after fasting

had to go to the doctor this morning for blood work.When I got up checked b.s. it was 185,I fasted all night,so took 2 units hoping get it down around 100 cause knew the doctor was going to check it,I didnt eat or drink anything when got there 2 hrs later he said b.s. was 260?Of course get my but chewed.When I left doctors office check with my monitor it said 244.Anyway how was this possible?Is liver dumping?If so how can control that.By the way 2 units should of brought b.s. to 100.Thanks for any info.

Just another thought...have you checked your basals lately? Is 185 a typical waking number for you? I know that is frustrating trying to get that "perfect" number for the doctor's appointment...I've gone "low" for the same reason...just before my appointment! LOL! Nothing like chewing on glucose tabs in the car...waiting to go inside for an A1C test...(my old doctor used to look at the current glucose level at morning of test...in addition to the A1C...like they were related?)
