For the past few days, my BG has been a few points higher than what it was, so that annoys me a bit.
But the worst thing is that I feel low, but I check and it's around 7-9 (which is high for me now).
And if I've measured every hour, I see that my BG goes up and down like crazy.
On thursday it was like this:
07:30 = 5.8 2IE 4 slices, a pear and milk
11:10 = 4.1 1IE 3 Slices, fruitmix, nuts and water
15:00 = 4.9 1IE (too little I know)4 slices of bread, fruitmix (homemade), some nuts and water
16:11 = 7.3
17:50 = 10.9 (after gym, felt like **** all throughout) 5IE Novorapid and 40g carbs
18:15 = 10.5
18:50 = 4.4 2IE novorapid, 3 slices and a glass of low fat milk and nuts
21:55 = 3.8 1IE novorapid, 3 slices and a glass of low fat milk
23:06 = 5.1 1IE insulatard before bed + 1 slice of bread
23.23 = 5.3
It seems like my BG goes up between the 3-4 hours I eat, so if I measure only at meal times, the BG would seem very good. Is this because I have no long acting insulin in my system?
So here I take 13 units total, while today I will go over 20 units easy.
Going to endo 3rd of march, will ask about levemir.

I'm counting 18 slices of bread. Most breads, and IMO all brand name breads in North America, are difficult on sugars. They tend to give spikes no matter how brown they are. I don't see any veggies at all! Perhaps a more varied and complex diet would help.

I only eat bread without wheat. And I bake some myself, so it's quite low on carbs and the carbs in it, are complex.
The fruitmix is one pear, one apple, one orange and some pineapple. So that gives me 4 fruits per day, plus whatever else I eat with the meals.
Usually I have veggies with dinner only, and on that day I only ate bread. But I am aware that I need to eat more of that.
I also take something called IntraMax :::drucker labs::: Organic Nutritional Supplements :: Home Page (http://www.druckerlabs.com/) which works pretty well.
I'm from Norway btw.

My wife has tried baking me low carb bread, we have tried several types. Mostly it just does not work for me. I will spike. I hate that but I do better without it.
That is a LOT of bread!
You really need a more balanced diet.. can you leave out some bread and add some veggies & proteins?
The less carb you have in a meal, the less you'll spike, and the less insulin you'll need which means less room for error. I'm not even talking about going low carb - I'm just suggesting you find a balance to avoid the spikes.
What is fruit mix? Sounds like another high carb food to me?

What I have highlighted in bold is quite normal as you feel like ****! as the liver gives the body Glucodin wich helps the body to recover. ;)

No I wouldn't worry as the BG's are good!! So your Basel is working well. :D

Yes this can happen as I too have an unuseual amount of fast acting as I varies from day to day. ;)

I know it's a lot of bread, but I don't spike too much from it. Especially if I buy something called "spelt" bread or make it myself.
The fruitmix is just one apple, one pear, one orange and some pineapple (fresh, not canned). I cut that into dices and eat half at one meal, and the rest at the next meal.
I'm used to eating lots of bread, not gaining weight atm. Actually decreasing my waist size and packing on muscle as I am lifting weights. I'm trying to change my diet, but there isn't really any other alternatives to bread, because that's what we eat a lot of here in Norway.
