Hi, my nine year old grandaughter Christie has Type 1 and has just got her pump. I have loaded the Cozmanager software but cannot use the ? help sections because Windows Vista Ultimate pops up with a message that this system has ceased with the introduction of Vista. Does anyone know if there is a way of overcoming the problem?

Also, I am having a problem finding a reasonably priced USB IR adapter. Suggestions for a locally (Australia) available model that users have found that work for them would be Appreciated.

Thank you.

As of a week ago, Cozmanager will still NOT work with Vista. Supposedly they are working on a patch, which was supposed to be out last March...

As for IR adapters, if you don't have a Cozmo rep who will be training your granddaughter (where she will get one for free), then pretty much any big box electronics store has them for less than $20US.

Thanks for the Vista information. In the meantime I am sure I can get my hands on an XP loaded computer.

The training took place in a hospital including an overnight stay, but while the pump was covered by insurance, no IR device is provided. The recommended device costs A$102 so I tried a A$60 unit from Tandy without success. We were warned that many IR units would not be up to the job.

Hi,

Welcome to the forums!

You could actually run xp inside of vista. As long as you have a xp on a disc with the license key. It shouldn't cost anything but an hour of your time to install. Here is a link for more info if you chose this path.

If you can find an adapter that is IRDA 2.0 compatible, you should be fine.

I tried that. It didn't work for me, but I didn't have XP on my Vista machine, I had it on our server... might be different if you install it on your actual machine.

I bought a couple of IR adapters from eBay that worked fine. I think they were about US$10.
