Confused?

Just started humolog last week have been doing great. This morning woke up and was really really low (32) checked BS 30mins. later and was at 140 3 1/2 hours later ate lunch and was at 250 2 hours later. Did do humolog before I ate and had light lunch too, do not under stand why I would go that high after being that low. And did not know if I should inject more to try and bring it down do not want to ho low agian.

With your bg that low, your liver probably released glucose to save you...

You should always treat when you go that low or you may find yourself in the hospital.

The famous liver dump. I think it must also release hormones that cause insulin resistance because mine seem to last for hours. It's like another DP hitting. You can't assume you will get one when you are low either. Sometimes you get nothing or very little, so be careful bolusing. Confirm it's happenning first; then bolus the **** out of it.

I would have to ask you to define a "light" lunch and how much insulin you injected..
