I'm curious if your a type I diabetic without insurance if there is any help out there for test strips. I have been paying my way with doctors, insulin supplies and meters and strips for the past 7 years.

I actually now have my aunt supplying me with strips but I would rather get them on my own. I'm a big boy and she needs them just as bad as I do.

Programs? Assistance?

I thought MA had a mandatory insurance law? So why don't you have insurance (stupid question, but a valid one.)

As for strips, I don't think there are many out there.

I actually live in southern, nh. There isn't even a car insurence law here nevermind health. Massachusetts however does offer a lot to its residents thats how my aunt gets her strips so for the past few months she has been helping me a lot.

Some members here have gotten good deals on strips on E-bay, might want to check it out. Also, Walmart has a "generic" meter thats about $8-9 with strips that are quite a bit less than regular ones as well. I think its called "Reli-On" meter or something like that.

As for your insulin, might want to check with the manufacturer/drug company to see if they have a program to help defer costs.

Is there some professional organization you belong to or can join? I know that realtors have NAR or something which offers group insurance at reasonably competitive rates.
IEEE maybe? Or your alma-mater?
