I came here from another well known diabetes forum site that i thought was good an informative. but everytime i posted a response someboby would contradict what i said an asked me to explain to them why i said what i said.i hope this doesn't happen here. all i want to do is associate with people that have the same problems i have an join in with the conversations an not having to explain myself.I'm tired of being a lurker there's some many questions I'd like to ask
an some knowlege I'd like to share.

I was DX'd with Diabetes Type 2 in may of 2007,along with High Blood pressure,an High Cholestrol.

Meds Currently Taking:
Novolog 70/30 flex pen 2 times a day 35 units per shot
Lopid 600 mg for cholestrol once a day
Prinivil 10 mg for High blood pressure once a day

I was diagnosed at the end of Dec 2007, and was also told I have high blood pressure and high chloresterol. Currently working on getting the blood sugars down and blood pressure.

Welcome DOC.

I think a certain amount of friction is necessary. It can be uncomfortable, but we all need it from time to time.

I've come to realize we are all so different when it comes to treatments and behaviors. If it works for you, then that's all that really matters. I might suggest alternatives, but I and just about everyone here will support you and your decisions. We all make critical decisions daily, and if I can learn something to help me do it better, I am most grateful!

Welcome Doc. I think you'll find that for the most part we're a peaceful bunch,;) though we are very quick to state our opinions and what has worked for us, as we are all at different stages in our journey and learn a lot from each other. We also ask lots of questions...as knowledge is power....BUT you'll never find a more supportive and encouraging group of people..ANYWHERE!

Care to share a little about how you manage your diabetes. Do you count carbs, get regular exercise? How was your last A1C?

We're glad you found us, and hope you enjoy your time here.

Welcome Doc - I am new here also - as of last night in fact :) My son is a diabetic but I am always looking for tips and information to pass on to him - when he listens to his mother of course.

Welcome to the forum, DOC.

I think you'll find a lot of "it works for me" or "in my opinion" type qualifiers on this board. We all realize that Diabetes treatment is not a one-size-fits-all, and in general this is a very supportive place. With good information. And good people. Smart and Cute too. ;)

Good morning gang..
Sorry I've not been here for awhile, but I've been having some problems with my mother who is in the nursing home. She fell and had several stitches above her eye, and a subdural hematoma, which they are watching closely. So as you can imagine, my time on the computer has been lessened.
I have been doing well with keeping the sugar under control with the use of metformin and the byetta. I dearly love that byetta shot for more then just the aid to the pill.. I have lost 18 lbs since starting it just before Christmas..Its not cheap, but then what is these days.
Hope everyone had a nice Easter.
Tony,,I got the bracelets..thank you so very much..
Hope y'all have a nice day...
Ky gal :)
