Me, I have been using the Minimed log books that come with the pump, for the past couple months.
These have been ok, but I would like to move to a bigger format because I have large writing and like to write more details than the spaces allow, at times. Often I can't put the food in in enough detail. I also want 30 minute increments to allow for things like easier, more accurate logging of pre-meal bolusing, or those times when I am have a rapid raise or drop and might test 30 min later.
I need to crack out excel or similar and design something, but I'm not too good at that.
What do you use to log with?

I use the log books you use, and now I'm going on Carelink in addition. But even that doesn't give you unlimited choices. I try to write very small (it's hard for me too). I like Excel and all it can do . . . that is where I would go to customize just the way you want. Maybe just use a big table during the day and input later (unless you are at the computer a lot).

I have started using carelink as well, I love seeing the overlay of sensor data.
I like the Minimed books, but all log books are so darn small to write in...
Someone on the forums, sorry I cannot remember who, has a link in their signature to a great spreadsheet they have saved to google docs. I would love to look at that again!

Look at mark-TN's profile. That's where you will find it. I love how he has his set up.

But it does require you have a google account.

I use Excel when I log. I haven't logged anything since last November though  If I want to see the numbers, I'll upload them to carelink.
Before you think I'm a bad diabetic, well I suppose I am, I follow a two-purpose approach. My regular day-to-day testing's purpose is compliance only. I want to know if I'm on target and whether I need to do anything about being off target. As you know, so much **** can happen. I test 6 to 8 times a day basically to catch ****. I see little need to capture all my **** catching. The fact that I was high one day because I ate pizza and low the next because I ate Chinese I suppose could be recorded. But I'll tell you, I sure as **** am not going to refer to a 6,000 page notebook when I go out for lunch. I prefer to file it in memory. I've also been at this over 30 years. Daily variances are simple footnotes in my library of experience.
My second purpose is rate determination or profiling. I will sometimes test my basals and other times I will test my I:C ratios. I try to use as scientific an approach as possible. I log these exercises in Excel, I graph them, analyze them, and I make adjustments accordingly.
I treat profiling fairly seriously. I know I could do more. I could do comparison studies of Chinese food versus Bowel Buddies. But generally it is pretty easy to figure out things. A piece of birthday cake once a month at work kills me no matter what I shoot. LArge meals need more insulin. Active days I have to cut back slightly. etc, etc, etc.
I also do watch out for changes in my behavior. When I suspect a change, I will try analyze it. Things like basal rates and I:C's can change. And with my increasing urge to exercise, it could be a busy year of logging.
You can ask me for a copy of my log (PM or email), but I'd prefer you'd be quite competent in Excel. It's tailored for pumpers who want to fine tune their numbers. I've also done some experimental matching of carb absorption to insulin activity. It's not exactly in production shape. I'm scared it may confuse people. Other basic spreadsheets would be easier to use. ;)

You're welcome. I've got a google account and have a copy saved but haven't done anything with it yet.

Subby and All-
I was just like you years ago the book was so small so I put it on a copy machine. I increased the size of the page until I had it was large as I wanted it. For me this was about half a legal size page. Made a good clear copy, took it to a copy place and had them make five hundrede copies of the page. Found a nice clip board the sheets fit on. Had a weeks info on each page. Works for me.

I use the forms my doctor gives me. They're pretty simple but it has the info they want.

I hate to log...but will keep a couple of pages of numbers about two weeks before appointments. I write sentences after some days...more of a "journal".
I hate those forms and little books...it just reminds me of the IRS or something. Or heaven forbid...a checkbook.
