Hi -- Fellow posters !!
How many posters have problems with Simvastatin 20 mg, does it make you constantly tired after midday, do you suffer with pins-and-needles.
I've been taken Simvastatin, cholesterol control for 3 years, can't seem to understand why I keep having these brief moments of tiredness during the day, and short bouts of pins-and-needles.
Will appreciate your comments please, thanks.

I have been taking 10mg a day for about 8 years. How do you know it is the Simvastin that is making you feel tired? My husband was on 40mg a day after his heart surgery, he stopped it on his own because he decided it was making him tired. After 3 months, he is still tired. He thought it was the cause of an allergic reaction he had also, but had it again when he wasn't taking the pill. I also get tired in the afternoon and have the pins and needles sensation sometimes, but there are so many other things that could be causing it...Diabetes comes to mind. Could you try not taking it for a couple of weeks, and see if that makes a difference?

Hey -- Penny !!
First of all, thanks for your replied comments.
How do you know it is the Simvastin that is making you feel tired? To be quite honest, I don't !! things at the moment, are not making a lot of sense.
However, your replied threads, made a lot of sense to me, I'll try not taking it for a few weeks, and see how I get on.
Living with this awful disease is hard enough, the last thing I want, is all the other things that go with it.
Thanks any way Penny for your in-put.

I have been taking simvestatin for a few years now (20mg) along with metformin. Have not had any problems. Dr did tell me when he first put me on it to take it at bedtime. DH also takes his lipitor at bedtime. Maybe to decrease sides effects???hmm. He's never had any symptoms either. If you can't come off it for a while, try taking at bedtime and see if it helps. (that's assuming you are not already doing that). :)

I always discuss stopping meds with my doctor before I do so. It has prevented me from making mistakes in the past.
