Hi Everyone, New to Diabetes and Here! I have had blood sugar problems my whole life (hypoglycemia since 17, pre-diabetes with first pregnancy at 18 and pre-diabetic for 5 years until I became pregnant again and developed gestational diabetes when I was 23, and pre-diabetic until now (I'm 28) awaiting diagnosis of type 2 diabetes...It's been a long 11 years of yo-yoing blood sugar swings and I never had any help, wish I did to avoid this (I used to alway over eat to avoid lows thinking that would help, now I know better) Or I would drink sugary stuff and too much and it would precipitate another low later. I have lots of swinging blood sugars, lows, highs (2.4, to 24.0) and it's draining trying to control them. Excercise gives me severe, fast and frequent lows that come on out of nowhere and scare me to not exercise! Plus I'm having kidney stones, gallbladder attacks and it's been a hard, hard month (my daughter is awaiting diagnosis for cystic fibrosis) Help please!

Welcome to the forum! I'm sorry you are going through so much with this! Why don't you start this in a new thread as this one was begun for Metformin users, so some won't ever read it! ;)

Welcome MissUSG! Glad you found us. I moved your post to the introduction forum where others can see and comment on it.
Are you currently taking any medication for your diabetes? Do you test your blood sugars regularly?
Sounds like you have a lot "on your plate" right now, and i'm sure it makes taking care of yourself a little difficult. But, with your little one, you have great incentive to stay healthy.
Let us know how we can help you.

Welcome to the forum, it's a great place with great people who have helped me so much to get on the right track (and stay on it). As Linda says, you have a lot on your plate and I feel for you. I hope you get a good result with your daughter (I'll get mine praying for her if you don't mind). We are all here to help and travel the journey together. Do tell us a little more about your meds etc., visit and post often.

wow thank you everyone for all the replies...It took me awhile to find replies here, I'm not on any meds right now, because I have trouble seeing an endo/ or internal medicine specialist (the closes one is almost 2 and a half hours away, and a long waiting list...6 months sometimes.) But, I have mostly been just testing and waiting for any help (haven't had any yet) my doctor's clueless and the internal medicine specialist thinks I'm pre-diabetic, but is this true with an a1c of 6.3??? and wouldn't that be enough to confirm diagnosis? my doctor makes me take the oral glucose test, but my sugars don't even stabilize long enough, and I'm low before I even start the test (and can't end up taking it) i've tried lots of times. Is this normal? how else can I get a diagnosis in a small town with no help? also, I have lots of hypos (after I excercise especially) and that has been the most frustrating part. And thank you to everyone who has been so kind on here-you're the only help I'm getting and it's appreciated and much more helpful than what I've been getting...I know only that I test and at the beginning my numbers were quite high (about two months ago) and now they're quite a bit lower...a1c 6.3 and blood pressure normal and no meds.
