this is almost the same as the persons post like 3 down about insulin resistance. BUt i do my site on my cheeks only. Iv beem doing it for pretty long time to where as all of them are pretty close and when you touch both cheeks there like bulletproof haha. I need to know if you can buy something to make it go a way a little or make it better because i cannot stand in my stomach. My legs are like no fat so thats kinda outta the picture.

HI DDR,

It sounds like you have some scar tissue there which probably makes changing the site difficult. I'm not sure what you can do about that, other than use a different site and let it heal. This is something to talk to your doctor about, b/c the more you use the same site the more it will happen and I'm sure it could affect your absorption of the insulin itself. What about using your abdomen? I hate injecting in my stomach, but they say that this is the best place. It's worth a shot.

Hope this helps you a little bit.

Hello
I use my stomach as well as the back side too. I have noticeable difference in absorption from both sites. The abdomen is greatly better for keeping the amount of insulin needed to a lower amount. The cheeks are good but I require a little more insulin for control in that location.
Have you tried to put the cannula in a higher area near the waistline and maybe just a little forward? This would be like the side of you. This area is good as well.

As far as the callous development, you could also talk to the pharmacist. They have several scar tissue creams that can help reduce this kind of buildup.
I hope this helps a bit.

thanks all for your help... but to awsner Dpav yea iv used all around the area to a pretty large extent. and yea i knew it was with scar tissure that was causing the problem i was just wondering if theres any way to get ridda it. I also hate using my stomach i still got 1000000 small dot scars from injecting needles years ago.

DDR, I think the best way to try and heal the sites is to simply stop inserting there. Easier said than done, right  ? Have you ever tried your upper abdomen, arms, or hips? If you use an angled set you might be able to get away with using your thighs, although if you can't pinch an inch it's probably best not to.
Don's idea of inserting on your side of your waist sounds good too. Maybe some more male perspectives on sites would be helpful here?

Good luck!

I don't know with most people, but if I go too far out to the sides of the abdomen - I start hitting a lot of muscle and nerves. And not only does it hurt, it bleeds and bruises.

i hit it the end of the needle once in a vein and it went right the the cafiter and squirted out. IT sucked and i bleed a lot in like 2 seconds before i ripped it out.
