Does anyone have differant bolus amounts, for thesame foods, at differant times of the day?

Yup!!

Whatever I eat in the morning takes more insulin. Say I want a piece of toast - I need to jab approximately twice as much for breakfast as I would if I was having it for supper. For a couple of hours in the morning I'm fighting Dawn Phenomenon so any meal - in fact, even no meal - requires more insulin than normal.

Lunch usually requires less insulin for me because it's a more active time of day.

I have three different carb ratios for different times of the day. It doesn't matter what the food is, the carb ratios are different for different times.

most definately carolyn :D

my ratio for meals between 6am and 4pm is 1:18
then its 1:10 for anytime else.

even my corection dose changes overnight, during normal hours its 1:2.5, but overnight its more like 1:1.

everyone is different ;)

Yes, and in my (limited) experience the values can change a fair bit over time and also change when your basal needs change.

Until recently, I was around 1:10 for all meals. Currently, I need 1:5 for breakfast, 1:8 for lunch and still on 1:10 for evening meal. All I've done is monkeyed with my basal to stop night hypos. Oh, and I've had a cold but the ratios had certainly altered before that showed up. Both now and before, the basal rate through the morning has been proven correct by a fasting test, so I've no clue whatsoever why the bolus amount has had to double to cope.... Just another of those bits of strangeness of this disease (unless someone can suggest why it is?)
