Same Meter: 1st reading 105, 2nd reading 119
I liked the first one better, but I just ate a no-no lunch so I expected it to be higher and I tested again immediately while I was still bleeding.
I guess I'm still astonished how inaccurate these meters are.

If that's a 2 hr post-meal reading, EITHER would be a good one. Try not to worry about the inaccuracies, unless you get to VERY DIFFERENT readings.
There's going to be a "margin of error" in any test you get, whether its a blood glucose meter at home or a routine lab test in your doctor's office...you're just more aware of this now that you're trying so hard to keep good control.
My advice, test once and unless its WAY off what you thought, just be glad of a good result.

We've also seen a lot of people on here say something like "my fasting is always between 100 and 105 but today it was 120. What does that mean? Should I not eat my breakfast? Do I need to see a doctor? Should I go to ER?" Well maybe not that extreme, but it's a common theme. There's no need to be alarmed by a single off reading.
You better understand now why I say once is not a trend!

It was exactly two hours since my last bite and I had eaten at my favorite chinese restaurant and pretty much ate what I normally get, which includes a good portion of vegetable fried rice. By my estimates, the rice was 100gms of carbs alone, so I expected a huge rise. I'm pleasantly surprised, since I ate a cookie last week that put me over 160 a couple hours later.
I'm going to check again in a couple hours just for peace of mind.

I find I can tolerate Chinese food quite well on occasion, as long as I avoid the sweet sauces. I generally opt for brown rice instead of white. It may be that you had enough protein and fiber to keep things pretty stable. Its nice to know you can have something you enjoy, isn't it?
You mention having problems with the cookie...one of the highest readings i've had since diagnosis came after eating green grapes....who'd have thought it!?! I've learned to test, test, test, so there aren't many surprises.

Chinese food seems to affect a lot of us negatively up to 10 hours later. Keep checking your bgs and see if they remain good today. If yes, then you are one of the lucky ones who have no problems with Chinese food. Me, I'm not one of them! :T

4pm test - 102
6pm test - 114
Getting ready to eat a meal with 35carbs. We'll see how it is before I go to bed. So far, it looks like I got luck with the chinese lunch.

I love rice but it doesn't love me back, so when I do Chinese, I just don't do rice and Chinese really likes me......never go high afterwards.
