I am so ticked at myself for not realizing this. I have wasted 4 infusion sets on my minimed 722. The stickum part of the set kept on getting fouled up inside of the inserter making a wadded up mess on my skin. :( Deciding that this was expensive and also aggravating, I gave medtronics a call. It turns out that it was something simple. :o There was a residue of previous glue from prior insertions on the inside of the quick inserter. All I needed to do was to clean it off with alcohol. Now no more stickiness. :T Duh! She also said to pull off the tabs of the adhesive pad half way -then the other half way -then both evenly the rest of the way. So hopefully it solves the problem. It was such a waste to throw all the infusion set away because of that problem. So check your inserters each time for glue residue. I still love the pump!:)

I had the same problem. There should be instructions included with each Quick Inserter advising this. This is my biggest complaint with the pump. Instead to using alcohol, I use powered laundry detergent to clean off the residue. I never tried pulling off the the tabs half way down. Its sounds that that would be problematic. Did you try doing that?

I find it easy to do the half pull... just grip one side with forefinger and thumb and bend up the opposite corner of the tab. Repeat with the other. Push the set in using the needle guard.
I got taught that way, and if I find other ways are more fraught with getting sticky on... losing the needle... etc etc. Give it a few goes.

In the 2-1/2 years I've been using the Quikserter, I have never experienced the problem of having glue residue inside of it. But just to be on the safe side, the next time I change sites, I'm going to wipe down the inside of it with an alcohol pad.

The difficulty I've had with the quickserter is that the little tab used to pull the rest rips, leaving the rest glued to the sticky part. My first tries to resolve this ended in tossings, because the sticky part folded on itself, making it, um, unlikely to stick to me:( . But my strategy when that happens is to get an old syringe and use the needle to gently pry up the tape so that I have something to get a handle on. It's worked so far. My trainer also had me put a finger on the needle guard while using the other hand to pull up that tabs; that helps too.
But I'm also going to try the alcohol wipe--every little tip helps!:)

I also have never had this issue in almost 4 years of quick-sets. I have cleaned the serter once in a while because if felt sticky but never because it messed up the set. Lucky me.
