Been having higher daytime numbers by about 10 points. I read somewhere that high Vitamin C supplements of around 4 1/2 grams per day could cause false high readings by reacting in the test strip. I was taking 1 1/2 dose of a multi-vitamin and a half dose of another. Most days I took 1 or 2 500mg Vitamin C. Also I eat oranges, grapefruits, berries, bell peppers, and broccoli. I was probably getting 2g to 4g Vitamin C per day. I stopped all supplements except fish oil and lowered daily averages by 8 to 10 points. I am slowly adding a few items back at 1 per week and monitoring changes. I may only take a half dose of a multi-vitamin and mineral, fish oil, and ALA. Also I found one place with a casual mention that B vitamin supplements worsened insulin resistance. I can't find it again and find no other claims of such. Has anyone else had a similar experience with Vitamin C or any other vitamin?
