I finally got myself back to the gym today. I took a body bar class which lasts an hour. It's basically a toning class with the last 10 - 15 minutes consisting of abdominal work. I actually felt pretty good afterwards considering I haven't been at the gym for quite sometime.
I have also started keeping a journal again of what I eat. For some reason I do better if I write down what I eat. My goal for the month of April is to lose 8 pounds. I also go back to the doctor in April for my next A1C. We'll see how my body is accepting the new medication I was put on (Januvia - 100 mg, 1X a day). Part of me thinks my A1C will be higher than last time (5.8) since I have gone back to work part time and I have seen an increase in my #'s . I am hoping that the doctor will take this into account if my A1C comes back higher.

Congratulations on getting back to the gym! I started Januvia added to my Metformin (Janumet) 3 months ago and will find out this Tuesday how my A1c has been affected by the change! Keep up the good work! ;)

Rochie.... watch out for the Januvia. It messed my thyroid up so bad that the endo wanted to run a thyroid uptake test. I said "NO" to the test and that I'm dropping Januvia. 6 months later my Thyroid was back to NORMAL!
I am now on Bayetta + Metformin instead of Januvia + Metformin.
Excercise is the key! Keep it up!

Oh great, just what I need, something to worry about with my new meds! LOL! How did you know your thyroid was "messed up"? What symptoms? *worried here*
