I went to the eye doc last week. I have never been to the eye doc before in my life. I have this thing about people touching my eye balls while I am awake. lol. It went well. My endo made my appt and said I HAVE to go. So I did. And it was covered under my insurance as medical, because I dont have vision insurance. This cute girl comes in and starts dropping drops in my eyes. Tells me it will sting a little. And as she said, it did. Then she sticks this metal thing on each of my eyeballs checking for glaucoma I beleive. And when she touched my eye, my vision went to water ripples. Like water was dropped on my eye and rippling outward. It was cool. And it didnt hurt. Then she puts the dialating drops in. And slowly, things got fuzzy and I couldnt read my watch. I felt like I was severly drunk or on some crazy meds. lol. It was weird and cool and painless. Doc finally comes in and I have no idea what he looks like. He is a big blurr. My eyes checked out fine. I have a little vision loss in my right eye and he said not to worry about it right now. :) Whatever that means... My point to my thread is do not be afraid of the eye doc.

Thanks for sharing your experience at the eye doctor Crystal. I see my ophthalmologist every year now that I have diabetes...i'm not afraid of the exams, just what they'll show. Fortunately things have been fine so far. Its very important for us diabetics to get regular eye exams. Like you, mine is covered under my health insurance plan because I have diabetes. Glad you got a good report!

Yep, with diabetes, you have GOT to go see an eye doctor regularly. I have some problems my eye doctor is helping me with that to hear about would make a person cringe, but in reality are not that bad at all.
