woke up again last night with my inset 30, the angled ones, hurting like crazy! whenever i moved that is. I could only lie on my left side and whenever i moved it hurt like frick! I really didn't have the energy to get up at change at 4 am either. so weird! I have put it on my side this time, and it still hurts. Im switching now. I don't get why they hurt, especially when i sleep on the site. The should be less intrusive and follow the skin's movement better right? i'm slightly annoyed now. hm.....

Maybe you have a reason but can't you try the 5mm quick-sets because they don't hurt unless your unlucky and hit a vein but that has only happened to me once.

Could it be you have very little or no body fat? I've had problems with sites hurting heaps, when I move or after inserting the site it hurts and I need to change it again. Anyway, I told me diabetes educator and she said the reason for that (pain) is I am very thin and have no body fat.
I don't know what inset 30 are like, but I have my first silhouette in and it is MUCH better than the quicksets I was using, no pain with the silhouette.

I think i've figured it out, the cannula might have been to close to the skin and not far enough in. I noticed as i was pulling it out. did it again now with a better angle, no pain. phew.

Hi Thomas,
Yes, that happened to my son once. We were in the car, and he shifted a bit and then really yelped with the jab. It was hurting him every time he moved and the problem was that it was right under the skin. Grazing nerves, I imagine.
Hope this one works for you!

I have that happen once in awhile. It's irritating, but luckily, a rarity.

any issues i have with angled sets are usually due to
*not having inserted it deep enough
*inserting it over bone (pelvic bones/ribs)
* inserting it over dense muscle mass (ie close to belly button)
ive tried using the sets in some strange places! lol
