Had the lab suck out a large quantity of blood last Wednesday and I provided a urine sample too.

I suppose if anything it helped reinforce the idea that if you work at it, you can make improvements and you can regain some areas.

HbA1c was 5.7%, which was a bit lower than I expected from the meter readings. Lipid profile had total cholesterol of 168, HDL of 76 and LDL of 92. Microalbumin was 19, down from 57 from the last time which was taken from back when my A1c's were much higher.

Doctor says I'm one of the rockstars of diabetic patients he has.

It's a lot of work sometimes and as far as I'm concerned, don't let anyone tell you that being a diabetic doesn't suck. It sucks. But I managing to do okay with it right now.

Marvelous Scratch!

Great A1c, but that Microalbumin is even better news! I know it's hard work, but the longer you do it, the more habit forming and easier to just keep on keepin' on, right?!

Yeah, I was really happy to see the improvement on that microalbumin number. It's nice to see that back into normal range.

Great checkup Scratch. I hope mine goes as well next month. Glad to hear everything is back to normal!

Why do we always dread the stupid lab tests...... :o

HDL of 76? Wow. I was happy with 48. Feel like sharing your secret? :)

Probably some genetics and lots of exercise. My activity level on a daily basis is probably at a point where what I consider an off-day or rest day from workouts would be considered a day with exercise by the general population.

I'm beginning to think that a high level of phsyical activity is crucial to get the body turning over and tapping into its regenerative abilities. If you don't use your potential physical capacity, the body had no incentive and lacks the hormonal signalling to keep itself phsyically able. If you don't use it, you lose it.

Of course it sucks--------BUT, just think how much more interesting your life is than people who don't have Diabetes.

Think of it as a Gift that keeps you from ever being bored.:D
