My employer is switching insurance companies. Group Health Coop. Problem is, they were telling me that they dont work with V.A. anyone have any experience with the two as far as getting supplies???

Group Health is an HMO. You'll have to get everything through them if you want the best prices. They will coordinate benefits, but it's extremely difficult to get them correctly done.

I haven't been on a pump with an HMO yet, but from what I know you're on the pump that they allow (they don't allow the Animas or Cozmo). They will pay for your One Touch strips... Next weekend I'll tell you how to "work the system" since I was born and raised on an HMO and wish I were back in it now. I'm way different than most people who hate HMOs. I'd rather be back on one to never have to pay 20% of everything ever again! :D

Rikki, it's funny you mention HMOs. I'm on Humano which is an HMO and have had great service with them. I have not tried to get a pump yet, but they pay for my pump supplies through Animas with no problem. Besides a CGM, I've never been turned down for anything by them and they don't even make me pay a lab copay. I'll let everyone know in a year on if they allow a new pump.
