I Have a pump know, MiniMed, after several years rejecting. It almost 2 months, but sugar levels are not stabl yet. I used to inject Humulin 3 times a day and Lantus for 2 times.HbA1c was 7-8.. I also take Metformin 1 gX2. I hope I can manage my Bg levels by having pump on my body..
Is there anybody having Type 1 and Hasimato, and breast ca? I am very interested in the effect of Insuline and diabetes on cancer..

Hi Ferzan,

I'm sure that your other medications would be hassling around your short acting insulin. It's possible that you blood sugars were more stable previously as you always had a solid base of Lantus acting, and now since you are pumping you only have short acting.

I can see how other medications can effect BGL's - Cortisone for 2 years really sent my blood sugars high for the 1-2 days after i had a Cortisone injection.

Best thing you can do is talk to both of your doctors about the effect of the other medications on your insulin (especially considering your pump).

Take care!
Alex

Cancel cells rely on the burning of glucose for energy, which means they use insulin. Minimising the carbo and insulin should reduce the activity of cancer cells. Google the Warburg effect ;) .

Also ask about basal testing for your pump. It's crucial to stabilizing your blood sugar.
