quick ?

I am getting the mini med with CGMS in a couple of days. When reading about it it states that every action muct be confirmed with a fingerstick. I was just wondering how off target the CGMS is with the fingerstick. Is it about 5-10 difference or more like 60-70? How reliable is the CGMS?

Thanks

There is a very large different in people's experiences... Most of the time, I am very happy with it... I haven't always been, but it has improved greatly lately. My CGMS is usually within 10-15% of fingersticks... but it gets wacky now and again...

I have found that the numbers are so far off that I actually do more blood sugar testing because I can't trust the cgms. (I always tell my wife - jokingly - that a cgms reading of 102 only means that blood sugar is not 102.) I actually filed a complaint with the FDA because I have had readings that are up to 50% off (100% off, depending on which way you do the math). I kind of wish I had waited to buy a future generation of this product because relying on it has gotten me into trouble too many time.

I felt EXACTLY the same way!

Mine is generally within +/- about 10 of my Accucheck Aviva meter. I am very, very pleased with it.
