Hello everyone, my name is Meredith and I am new to the forum. I am a type 2 and have been for 12 years. I just got a paradigm pump 2 weeks ago and have never felt better. I have always tested 7 times a day and my A1C's are usually right around 7.0. Dr. said that with my pump he thinks i'll probably be in the 6's in three month's. I hope so. I have two children, a 12 year old girl and an 8 year old boy. I am a wife and a stay at home mom, and would like to chit chat with anyone about anything. :)

G'day Meredith,I just looked at your place of origin & checked it's stats.
Did you know Ohio has a population of approx 12million . This amazes me as our entire country only has 21million, which is the same as New York.
I'm sure I'd feel crowded up there :D

That's great your feeling so well with the pump. These things worry us non med at the moment D's. Your claims put these fears at rest.

Hi Meredith,
I just discovered the Forum myself today. Was just diagnosed this year with Type II, beginning to think I have had it alot longer than that though. I am curious, they only have me testing 3 times a day, not the 7 you mentioned. That is tough, I have hard time sometimes doing 3 a day, can't imagine the hassle of doing it 7. I am not familiar with the pump you mentioned but sounds like it is working great for you.

sorry RobiJo, It really depends on who you ask I was considered type 2 taking tons of oral medication then switched Dr.'s and they tell me i'm type 1 so I guess it's type 1 I am at least until they want to switch me to another type. 3 perhaphs? Just joking , anyway sorry to try to confuse you.Meredith

Don't worry about confusing me. It's you that needs to know/understand. Many people consider them almost like different diseases. There is the third type already... it's called 1.5, perhaps thats where you best fit in, perhaps not. Understanding what you need and why (as far as meds/treatment are concerned) is a huge factor in your treatment and staying healthy.
