Well I've been adding lemon juice to foods quite a bit lately. I just like how the acidity tastes and it's basically a "free food". I noticed on my own that my 2 hr BG's have been better than expected even after eating stuffing and a baked potato. I thought this was odd so I researched a little and found a few articles stating that acidic foods like lemon juice or vinegar can help lower bg. Interesting.... a whole new reason to keep adding it to my chicken and veggies.

It's not exactly a free food.

Oh wow! I would have never known. Such a deceptive little nutrition fact label. :D Thanks for the info. Makes me wonder how many carbs I had for dinner? Hmm...

Remember What Peter Paul and Mary said about Lemon.
"Lemon tree very pretty and the lemon flower is sweet
But the fruit of the poor lemon is impossible to eat":D

You are mistaken that lemon is an acidic food. It is actually as far from acidic as you can get. It is a common mistake to think lemons are acidic.
It is actually one of the most natural alkaline foods available. There are several theories that state a proper alkaline / acidic ph balance in your body to heal itself (i.e. the pancreas for type 2 diabetics). If you want more info, i can send you links.

Wow. Learn something new everyday! I looked it up, turns out lemon is alkaline and milk is acid. Turned my world upside down. Go figure.
