Hello everyone. I am very new to this forum obviously. My nae is Jose. In August 2000 I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. I had a blood sugar level of close to 800 when I was first diagnosed but I was shocked to hear that my dad had 1100 when he was diagnosed before I was. I was on my way to becoming a pastry chef. I swithcehd gears in my career. I am still a chef. I just decided I needed to cover more culinary fields. Not just sweets in order to live and eat better. I am married and have three children and have a daughter diagnosed with cancer. I live in kissimmee florida with my wife and children. And I am very excited to find a forum for diabetics. I really didn't think there were any. Hopefully I will learn a lot and share and learn from everyone.:D

G'day Jose, I'm sorry you've had such a hard time & how sad that your daughter should have cancer.
Being a chef could be a possitive for you as you'd be more adventurous with new low carb meals then I am. I really miss pastries but sticking to this diet guarantees improved health.
Looking forward to getting to know you through your posts.
