I'm wondering if any one checks 1 hour post pandrial. If yes, what is the range that I have to look at as normal. I had cerials with fat-free milk (1/2 cup) and my 1 hr PP was 174. I understand that BS will be at its peak at 1 hr after food & I'm not sure if its a high 1 hour reading. After 1 hour, (my 2 hr) was 85. I know my 2 hr is good but I need some info on 1 hour PP.

Thanks,

IMHO, the 185 was probably a little high, but you did return to an 85 at 2 hrs PP, so that's good. I try to stay under the 140 mark at 1 hour, but don't always make it.

If you can find the Hood's Calorie Countdown milk, it's low carb and my BG is rock steady after it, even when I make chocolate milk with it (with Splenda of course.)

Look at this post http://www.diabetesforums.com/forum/diabetes/17046-normal-blood-glucose-graph.html#post202830 for a graph that shows normal post prandial blood glucose. The mean 1 hour PP reading is less than 120. The only way to reduce it is to eat less carbs. Instead of cereals and milk, try eating eggs and cheese. The one hour PP should be a lot lower.
