Hi everyone ... I'm not a new diabetic, but I am new to this forum. :D

I've been T2 since '93. I am not a good diabetic, :( I'm hoping by talking, that I will be accountable, and get my act together.

I recently bought a book called "Using Insulin". I like the book, and hope it's all it looks like it is. ::)

I've order a gram scale from Amazon, so hopefully I will do the carb thing the right way. Each time I read, I pick up something that I didn't the previous time I read it. hehe

Hi. I hate that 'good diabetic/bad diabetic' moniker. It's really hard work keeping up the regime. Tomorrow's a new day. Don't be too harsh on yourself. Just keep doing what you can, and if you slip up, well, try again tomorrow.

Just today, I heard a story about a person who'd just found out she had an underactive thyroid. She was devastated that she would have to take half a tablet a day for 'the rest of her life' to control the condition. She actually sought counselling to deal with it. I wish! So just take it day by day. Cheers.

Hi Gossie, welcome! Glad you found the forums. Its a great place for information and support.

You mention being a "bad" diabetic...we've all been "bad" at one time or another...we're only human. Just don't let your "bad" days turn into bad weeks or bad months. When you slip up, just pick yourself up and start over.

If you want to share what gives you the most problems, maybe someone here has the same problem and can offer advice on how to better deal with it.

Look around, post often. Sounds like you're ready to jump back "on the wagon." Good for you!

Gossie,

Welcome to the forums, it's a great place for information, motivation and support, the people here are always ready to help.

I know you are not new to Diabetes, but, there is a book called "The First Year: Type 2 Diabetes" by Gretchen Becker, which might be worth your while reading, it's very informative and easy to read, you never know you may find some new tips in it.

Climb back on the wagon, it's not always easy but it is always worth it and we'll help you get on board.

Visit and post often,
