Ibuprofen

Does Ibuprofen cause anyone else's bg's to rise? It seems to rasie mine. Carolyn.

i have noticed others mention this to be the case carolyn. cant say ive noticed any difference in me though....i always was a bit strange though lol ;)

I thought it caused mine to go down, until I took Advil PM a couple of nights. I got up to my highest fasting numbers in a long time. I am pretty sure regular ibuprofen causes me to retain water, so maybe that could be the problem.

I took a couple of Ibuprofen recently for neck pain and did notice a rise in BG, nothing outrageous but a slight rise. Of coure the rise could be associate with the pain I had rather than the Ibuprofen.

Don't underestimate the "invisible stress" factor. If you were in pain in the first place, or worrying about finally getting some sleep, the stress can also cause a bg rise. It's my least favorite and most unpredictable thing about dealing with my diabetes.

Haven't noticed a rise in bg from ibuprofen, but I notice big one from pain.
