I was just diagnosed about two months ago. I take 12 units levemir and one metformin in the morning. But I have been told buy one of my diabetes team that I may have to take more insulin before ever meal. So that would mean one levy in the morning and three more during the day of probably novalog. I may just pursue the pump. My appointment is at the end of may. But my fasting BG this morning was only 99. But the metformin is destroying my stomach.

Do the 4 shots a day method for awhile. Learn to base your novolog dose on your carbs and bg. See how that goes, then consider pumping.

Welcome to the forums Tin. Pumping insulin is a whole new ballgame, but well worth the effort if you understand the process.
I have been pumping for six years and actually am still tweaking and learning. Do your research and perhaps demo a few pumps so you understand the process.
Good luck!!
