The twins are growing fast and kicking the stuffing out of poor little mum. The D has shown vast improvement now that I am on Levemir and Novorapid but my BP has gone through the roof! When it is particularly high I find that my BG rises as well.
Is there anything I should be doing? I have stopped running now but still swim and exercise gently.
I did have DKA and Pancreatitis a few weeks back. Could this be contributory?

Heather.

Ps. Cynthia is really, really active now and Johnathon is lazy but gets kicked awake by his sister. They love waking mum as soon as she goes to sleep and apparently need to have wrestling matches whenever I eat. :)

Keep up the exercise - that's helping you a lot and...

From the MayoClinic.com:

The benefits of relaxation techniques

With so many things to do, relaxation techniques may take a back seat in your life. But that means you may miss out on the health benefits of relaxation.

Practicing relaxation techniques can improve how you physically respond to stress by:

* Slowing your heart rate
* Lowering blood pressure
* Slowing your breathing rate
* Reducing the need for oxygen
* Increasing blood flow to major muscles
* Reducing muscle tension

You may also gain these overall health and lifestyle benefits from relaxation techniques:

* Fewer physical symptoms, such as headaches and back pain
* Fewer emotional responses, such as anger and frustration
* More energy
* Improved concentration
* Greater ability to handle problems
* More efficiency in daily activities

You should find that if you practice relaxation your BG should be a bit lower too. I've seen it work for me (lower BP) and even got a raised eyebrow from my doctor. It's free and it feels good - give it a shot!

Thank you Keith. I do yoga every day and that seems to help a little. I'll look up some more relaxation techniques as well.

Heather.

Heather,

Thanks for the update on the little ones. It brought a smile to my face. Take good care of mum, too.

And oh yes...I'm afraid the wrestling matches have just begun.

Thanks Mich, glad it made you smile. They seem to be tying themselves in knots and then springing apart as I type today.:confused: :D
