Hey guys, just spotted that a few of you had been ordering up and receiving some of the Ultralink meters and since I use one of the paradigm 522 pumps, I reckon they sound pretty smart.

I was just wondering if anyone had any word on whether they would be avaliable in the UK any time soon? Any searches through the web didn't really give me anything useful, so I figured I would ask in here.

I am also thinking about calling the customer services number for Lifescan to see if I can get any info from them, but I won't be able to get hold of them until Tuesday because of the holiday on Monday.

Any info you have would be appreciated, but if I get hold of the Lifescan guys before I hear back from anyone, I will post in here what they tell me in case anyone else over here is looking for them.

They don't make them in mmol/l. You'll want a Bayer Contour Link and/or the new Sanvita Nova Max. They all seem to go through Minimed, so call them up. You have their number on a fridge magnet no?

Thanks for the heads-up on those meters, I hadn't been aware that there was more than one option on that front. I will go off now and see if they are avaliable in the UK on the NHS and if not, how much they cost.

Now that I am thinking about it, I was talking to someone from Lifescan, whilst trying to get my data cable for the one touch ultra 2 working with Vista (it doesn't) and the woman mentioned that that Johnson & Johnson, who own Lifescan had purchased a pump manufacturer (Animas) and so, that makes me wonder, will there be more R&D spent on meters compatible with the Medtronic pumps, or will they refocus on the Animas pumps?

But anyway, I guess that is a matter for discussion when I know more about Animas and their pumps.
