Both my mom and I are type 2s and we both are trying to gain more control of this disease. We've both been diabetic for long time and sometimes we've been good and sometimes not. Mom is elderly and I want to help her do a better job with all of this. Anyway, what I am looking for is a journal/log in which we can record daily bgs, all diabetic meds, food, exercise and can be printed. I want to print off the forms and bind it in a notebook for my mom to record in. She doesn't do the computer thing. Any help would be grateful. I know I could devise one of my own, but let's face it...why invent the wheel twice. :D

I just purchased something call "My other checkbook" from diabeticmall.com. It looked small enough to carry with me all the time and has room for notes on what I eat, plus a way to graph levels.

I can't say how good it is as I haven't used it yet. They also have a few different books available.

I use a program called GlucoseOne, you can print out blank log sheets with it, record your numbers manually, and if you have the cable and software for your meter, you can import the data into the app. pretty handy little program for free.

Also take a look at Diabuddies.

I made a MS Word file, based on one my CDE gave me. It is too big of a file to post on the forums. I would be happy to send it your way, if you are interested in looking at it. Just PM me your email. This is, of course, if you don't want to go the upload results route...

I have a program from One Touch plus my diabetic educator just gave me a book that includes calories for food as well as calories used in activites as well. Course I left it in someone's car. If I find it tonight I will give you the name tomorrow. I liked it because I could see how many calories I used as well as what I was taking in.

Glad you are taking care of MOM:cool:
