I haven't used my Aviva very often yet. Still using up strips from my old meter. I was having some issues with it reading WAY higher than my old one when I first got it, which was not accurate, when compared with my latest A1C. I didn't stop to think that it had been sitting in a hot car for the entire morning. I've come to the conclusion that these little boogers are pretty temp-sensitive.
Once it had been at room temp for 24 hours, it started reading right along with my old meter--usually within 5 points, but rarely more than 10.
FWIW, I'd go with the meter my insurance company covers strips for. That's one reason I got the Aviva to start with. I've heard every meter on your page both cussed and praised. LOL. Now isn't that helpful? Heh.
Good luck in your choice!

hI my endo thinks the accu check seems more accurate but I like the contour better and the strips are about the same cost really .

I'm a fan of the Contour... pocket friendly and no coding but picking up on Scrabblechick's comment above, "I've heard every meter on your page both cussed and praised."... I'd say that there probably is little to choose between any of them, and it probably comes down to either practical issues like which your insurance pays for or which one you trust :)

I really think its not so much WHICH one you use as long as you use one! I use the One Touch Ultra-II and the One Touch Mini, but recently got a new one for free from a commercial on D-Life....An Aviva..not tried it yet. I really like the mini because of its small size.

Thanks all, seems everyone is getting whatever the insuance company covers best. My problem is, mine isn't covered. I have a $3,000 deductible so until I meet that, it really doesn't matter which is covered.

I too am a freak over the One Touch, I have all of them from years ago up unto now, I'm now usig the One Touch Ultra II., and I also have the One Touch Mini, it is so portable, I use that one in my pocketbook and the other at home. I also have the One Touch Smart, this one is connected to the computer, but I haven't gotten the hang of it yet.

I swear, I must have had every meter known to humankind. Before my current OneTouch Ultralink, I used the Accu-chek aviva.
