Hello everyone
Diabetes runs in my family. My grandfather passed away last year due to diabetic complications and doctors suspect one of my children might have it as well. I'm doing as much research as I can about the disease. I'm particularly interested in learning more about diabetes benefits/fundraisers, but it's difficult to know what foundations do good honest work and which ones don't.
Anyhow, I'll be pokin around in here, might have a few questions. Thanks!

The American Diabetes Foundation is a good one to check the validty of other groups through. If they are known to be fradulent the ADF has a list. Much info is also available form meter & drug mfg companies. You may also find helpful info by going to Joslin.Org Joslin is a part of Harvard and one of the oldest Diabetic clinics in the US. They offer a special discussion board for parents of diabetic children/youth. I found the forum through their board.
Praying things will go well for you and your child.:)

Welcome to the forum. Have blood/urine tests been performed on your child to determine whether or not he/she is diabetic?

Welcome to DF where the questions run free and and the people are friendly^^ why do doctors only suspect? If they suspect shouldnt they test? Push for a test. If it is diabetes the sooner its caught the better, if it is nothing then it will calm your nerves and if its something different then you may be pushed in a new direction. Best of luck to you and your child, and ask away! Thats what this site is meant for:D
