Yes... I am also intrigued... and perhaps even a little excited by this thread :D (I really need to get a life!)

Is it maybe something like this... (http://www.pumpwearinc.com/sunshop/index.php?l=product_detail&p=409)

Do non-pumping T2's have a "thigh-thing?" ;)

lol guys, you are too funny!

i'm of course referring to a type of accessory that one can clip the pump to in the absense of an appropriate waist band.

Well her name's Kim and she's this ador.....

Oh, that's not what you meant. :o Silly me. :D

I don't have a "thigh thing" to hold my pump yet but I need to get something for days out playing paintball and roughousing with the boys. I'd be interested in hearing what others do.

And here I was thinking about thunder thighs and how to slim them down! Jeepers something else that does not apply to we poor deprived type 2s! I think I will just cry.:)

I bought the one from the Minimed site, but I haven't used it yet. It looks like it'll work pretty well, though. I just wish I had a remote...but I'm not too interested in dishing out the money for it. I'll just have to figure out a way to get at it when I need to bolus (or see what my CGMS says) without being indecent...

My gracious. Are you setting yourself up deliberately?

I did see a couple of 'thigh things' when I met the Animas rep on my plumbing in day. The ones she had looked very low tech. They were effectively just a tubigrip bandage and you stuffed the pump into it. I'd been expecting a kind of a kinky holster in black. I was deeply disappointed.

I'm going to get one for the simple reason that I'll be able to stick my hand down my trousers and scratch my undercaridge in public; if anyone asks what I'm up to I'll claim to be bolusing ;)

Shabbie if you find a European/UK or will send from the US source can you tell me please. None of the Minimed products in the French brochure is a 'thigh' thing. I don't wear dresses very often but Summer is a commin in.

Your gracious, no. I'm serious! If I want to wear a dress and hide the pump, I'm going to need one of these, but I'm going to have to be very discreet when I use it! It's an honest concern of mine!

Do they still have a remote for the MM? I heard of a woman who had nowhere to hide her pump in her wedding dress so she had it arranged inside her hairdo and bolused using the remote. :)

Beth, try giving an audio bolus through the dress. You might have to set the pump to vibrate in order for this to work. (no jokes, gentlemen- this is a serious topic here! :D) This is how I wore my pump at my wedding- control top nylons will hold anything in place, even a pump :)

That said, I can't say enough good things about my pump remote- I don't use it often, but when I do, it's a lifesaver!

Whenever I don't have a waistband to clip it to... it goes down the front and clipped to the middle, or just clipped to the top of my bra strap. I can easily pull it out and it just looks like I'm scratching my neck or shoulder. If your worried about sweating etc, you can put it in a baby's sock.

What an amusing thread (though not its intention). A few good chuckles about the "thigh thing". Sorry I cannot help here. My pump lives on my belt/waistband 100% of the time.

You should try one of the pump bands at Fun, creative diabetes cases & accessories for kids and adults, walk t-shirts, insulin pump cases and support items. (http://www.pumpwearinc.com). I got one for my daughter (she's 16) for her prom and she loves it!!! They have them in all sizes and the standard colors flesh, black and satin, but they also have them in fun colors green poka dots (my daughters favorite) because she could be cool even under her gown!

hope that helps!

your replies have amused me no end lol! thanks!

HelenM pumpwearinc do ship overseas from the states. their pump bands do look really cool actually. i hadnt thought of using something really patterned and multi coloured, but that looks like a real fun way to wear 'em.

the audio/vibrate way of bolusing i can use so that will be a good discreet option. sorry fellas .....no flashing of thighs here!...or knobbly knees! lol

i went to the pharmacy this morning and picked up some 'Tubigrip' which i will try. in theory folded over it will create a pocket to support the pump, and in theory it should be tight enough to stay put all day long too. i'll let you know if it works ;)

No pump, but I really want that Oriental satin garter on the pumpwear site! LOLOL.

I have a life size picture of a groom removing the garter and his new wife saying, "No honey. Wrong leg! Don't throw my pump!" Hehehe. That was bad, I know.

A bride with her pump in her hairdo. I have to ask--where was the tubing? Running down her neck? Unreal.

You're right, anthill--these pumpers are seriously crazy!

Ok....my mind is wandering here. But if someone hides their pump in their hair, where the heck is the canula and how did they hide the tubing? Something doesn't ad up. :D

I assumed that they used the longer tubing so the insertion point could be anywhere really (especially if she was petite) and that between the hair (maybe some bits hanging down) frilly stuff and flowers, the tubing was sufficiently hidden or camouflaged.
I'm a guy..! I found the story interesting but you really can't expect me to have asked for details of the bridal gown :D

the tubigrip is working just fine! i folded it over and created the pocket. so far it hasnt budged at all and feels really secure. only snag is i get a bit tangled when using the loo! lol

my hair is quite 'big' on windy days but not big enough to hide a pump lol
