Welcome dede! I imagine you've been through a lot lof stress lately. Gr 1 is an early stage with very favorable prognosis, isn't it? What treatment(s) are you choosing?

How are your blood sugars reacting to all the stress? Please let us know how we can help you.

I was just diagnosed, will have surgery in June to take just the lump and a clear edge with balloon for radiation therapy. I live in the Phoenix AZ area.

So far my sugar is good, I try really hard. I think the thing that is bothering me is that I also have a thyroid problem and when I have the surgery, they are also going to take some limp nodes from my armpit and I don't think I will like that.

If I can offer any encouragement, my twin has the most aggressive type of BC - Inflammatory stage 3B-4 on diagnosis. Next month she celebrates her eighth year or survival with no expiry date or mets yet. Wishing you a favourable treatment regime.

Dede,
I am an 8 year survivor of Stage 1 BC. I too had a lumpectomy, removal of the first 3 lymph nodes, which were clear. I had six weeks of radiation, 5 years on Tamoxifin and am on my 3rd year on Femara. The surgery was the easy part. If you must go on Tamoxifin, ask for a prescription of Effexor to help with the hot flashes. I am more concerned with my diabetes than I was about the cancer, it was caught early.
Let me know if I can answer any questions you may have.
My thoughts and prayers are with you.
