Anyone here been told that they have dry eyes? I was told that my eye ball area don't make some type of moisture at night and I tend to re-tear a old wound in my eye when it tries to open in the morning. I use Optive now. It helps some.
My family doctor notice my eye is red and told me if it didn't go away he was going to make me go back to the eye doctor. I went in for a sinus infection not my eyeball.
Anyone with dry eye problems due to diabetes?

Yes lil. The answer for me was to drink more water. If your blood sugar is out of control, you are losing to much fluid to be able to replace it adequately. If you are in control, you may be like me and just don't drink enough water. My father also has this problem and he is not diabetetic, he is just a camel and doesn't drink enough water during the day. Try drinking more water throughout the day (not just at night or you will be up all night walking). Within a few days, you may find that your dry eye problem is better. If your blood sugar is out of control, you need to try to get that resolved.

When I went to get contact lenses a couple of years ago, right after a weekend celebrating my 40th birthday (didn't get a whole pile of sleep ;)) the optician said my eyes were dry and recommended using Liposic gel (not when contacts are in).
I have kept some at home ever since, very soothing and works a treat. Not sure if it is available where you are but here is some info on the stuff Liposic (http://www.netdoctor.co.uk/medicines/100004920.html)
Do check with your Doctor/Optician before using it.

I have one eye that is dry. drinking enough water is not my problem, I consume lots and am glad I have a private bath as I use it most nights. I think the eye does not close enough at night and doesn't blink as much. A small bottle of drops lasts months so it is not terrible
