pump keeps falling off waistband

I usually have pump in pocket or tucked in bra. I keep trying to put it on waistband (have the clip you can order on it), but it keeps popping off. Did it twice yesterday and pump fell, hung there and never hit ground as I use short tubing, and luckily didn't rip it off, but it is irritating. I get up in restaurants (can't get it tucked back in bra after bolus so clip it on waist) and it flops off and hangs down. Things like that. I read here that most seem to wear it on waist like a phone or beeper, but mine won't stay there. Any suggestions or comments? Thanks

I gave up on that a long time ago, pants pocket ends up working out fine for me.

can you wear a belt with those pants. That'd be the easiest solution, if possible. Otherwise I agree with Llyod, just stick it in your pocket. That's what I do around the house when not wearing a belt, just make sure you don't have too much tubing hanging out, I've managed to pull out a couple as I walked by counters and the tubing caught on the knobs.

I use the MiniMed 715 and haven't had that experience at all. When I had the 508, I bought a cell phone clip and case for my pump to hold it closer to my waistband (didn't like the leather case) and it worked great. You might consider trying one of those and see if it works for you. Look around for a case with a good clip and one that fits your pump tightly in the case.

I clip mine on a belt. When I use sweatpants, I have to keep it in a pocket. I have used clip bags but be careful about the material - if they generate static, they can damage the pump. I lost a 508 to static using minimed's nylon clip-on bag.

The static issue was corrected in the paradigm models, Mike. I also lost two 508's to static. With the new pumps, static is no longer an issue.

I clip my pump to my pocket of my pants. It doesn't cause any problems or at least not often.

I keep mine clipped to my belt most times, usually just in front of my hipbone but exactly where depends on if I'm walking around, driving, sitting, etc. If I am not wearing a belt then it's either clipped to my pants or in my pocket depending on how sturdy the waistband of the pants happens to be.

I should mention that I prefer the holster the MM comes with to the actual clip. I find the holster gives me easier access to the pump while still holding it securely and just works better for me.

Sometimes I secure it in a cotton bag attached to my bra. It hangs down under my clothing, out of sight. I make the bags out of cotton scraps, close with Velcro and attach to bra with a safety pin. I can pull it out for dosing, and slip it back in the bag because it is lower than my bust and above my waist.
Does this make sense?

Hi, I didn't read through all the posted replies but I use what I think is called 'The leg thing' - a velcro pouch that wraps around your leg with the pump inside it. Depending on how long your tubing is deterrmines how much leeway you have.

my 16 year old daughter use to have all kinds of problems, than we found these things called "Pump Bands" at Fun, creative diabetes cases & accessories for kids and adults, walk t-shirts, insulin pump cases and support items. (http://www.pumpwearinc.com).

they are really unique they are spandex you buy them based on where you want to wear it, we have one for her thigh (dresses) and one that is a waist band (her favorite) each band has a pocket sewn in it for your pump. My daughter likes that the pump is secure and she can virtually do or wear anything. These bands have been a real blessing. You know teenagers everything is tight and my daughter is now in the stage i don't want to show the pump and these items have really made a difference.

I'am sure if you check out this site you will see tons of clothing, packs,cases etc. They really have a nice selection for adults along with kids.

Hope you find somthing but definitely try the pump bands

i tend to clip my pump to my waist band at the back you know in the small of the back, it doesnt seem to get in the way of get nclipped from there, depends what you use to clip it on with of course! lol

now that summer has hit us i am using a tubular bandage on my thigh which folded over itself creates a pocket for my pump, its pretty secure actually! although i do fancy something a bit more funky so might order one of those thigh bands mentioned earlier ;)

I tried clipping to waist band or belt in various positions and kept breaking the clips getting in and out of the car I drive. The solution, which I have been using for 7 years now, is to put in a pocket.

I had the same problems keeping my pump attached too. I'm very active and the only clip that has stayed is one called a Clip-N-Go. It's made to fit my Animas IR1250, it has a velcro closure and very strong clip. It comes in plenty of colors and runs about $17. When mine get dirty I just throw it in the washer it comes out good as new. It looks as though they also make it for the MM pump. I bought mine at the animas website. Hope this helps.

That sounds like a heck of a lot of faffing around when one is out for a Saturday lunch, or whatever. I'm two weeks off starting on the pump and I think if I have to be groveling around in the breast region it'll be even more indiscreet than shooting up with a pen at the table. What do you do? Go to the loo and undress before you eat?? I don't think this would suit me.
