Animas teaming with Dexcom

Now this is one I did not see coming..

I got an Animas newsletter today in the mail, and it says that Animas is teaming with Dexcom to use their Seven platform to bring CGMS to Animas pumps by 2009/2010.

Sure makes me wonder if Lifescan is actually developing a CGMS system of their own, or if they scrapped it?

I think Lifescan is still developing one but Animas is opening the door to allow more than one CGM to be used with their pump. From a marketing standpoint, I think that's a great idea. This will give the user more options when selecting different products that may work for them. Think of a CGM just like an infusion set, we have multiple options to give us more preferences.
